From the first moment I saw Louie Labudda’s work at the LUX Center for the Arts, I became a huge fan. I’ve not had the pleasure of meeting this artist, but I understand that he is an alum of Lincoln Southeast High School and Doan University. Clearly, Jun Kaneko has influenced his elegant forms and refined surface treatments, but Louie has taken these elements and made them his own with gorgeous wood bases and thoughtful pairings.
